Tutorial: Farbstich entfernen / remove a colour cast

Wer ab und an einmal alte Fotos eingescannt hat, oder den falschen Weißabgleich an der Kamera eingestellt hat, wird sich schon über den damit einhergehenden Farbstich geärgert haben. Falls er sich dann nicht im Camera Raw entfernen lässt, habe ich hier noch einen ganz praktischen Arbeitsablauf.

Who once in a while has scanned old photos or used a wrong white balance setting on the camera, was anoyed about the colour cast which goes hand in hand with it. In case you cannot remove it with camera raw, I have a routine which comes in handy.






Ich habe hier ein Bild mit einem starken Lilastich.
Here I have a picture with heavy purple cast.

Schritt 1: Macht ein Duplikat von der Bildebene (strg+j)
Step 1: Make a duplicate of your picture layer (strg+j)

Schritt 2: Benutze den Filter "Durchschnitt berechnen" (Filter-Weichzeichner-Durchschnitt berechnen). Jetzt habt ihr eine einheitliche Farbfläche die die durchschnittliche Farbe des Bildes darstellt.
Step 2: Use the filter "Average" (Filter-Blur-Average). You now have a solid coloured layer which represents the average colour of the picture.

Schritt 3: Invertiert diese Ebene (strg+i)
Step 3: Invert this layer (strg+i)

Schritt 4: Stellt den Ebenenmodus dieser Ebene auf "Farbe" und passt die Deckkraft der Ebene so an, dass der Farbstich so gut wie möglich verschwindet.
Step 4: Set the layer mode of this layer to "Colour" and adjust the opacity of the layer till the colour cast is nearly gone.

 Komplett ist er in dem Fall nicht draussen, im Zweifel muss man die Schritte auch nochmal wiederholen. Aber abhängig vom Ausgangsmaterial und der Art des Farbstichs kann das Ergebis besser oder schlechter sein.

It is not completely gone, in doubt you have to repeat the steps again. But depending on the source and the kind of the colour cast the result may differ.
